Elise Maw
LSW
I was born and raised in central Texas. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Weber State University in 2019 and my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh in 2023.
Before joining Diane Bauer and Associates, I worked as a Behavioral Health Therapist at the UPMC Matilda Theiss Center for Child and Adolescent Trauma, where I provided trauma-focused therapy to children and adolescents ages 5–18. I have also worked closely with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder across home, school, and community settings, helping to build skills in emotional regulation, social interaction, and daily functioning.
My clinical experience includes working with individuals across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, and adults. I have experience supporting clients with concerns related to anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, grief and loss, adoption, parenting challenges, and life transitions. I also work with adults coping with chronic illness or pain, high-stress professions, and concerns related to identity and faith.
I take a client-centered, collaborative approach to therapy and draw from evidence-based practices to support each individual’s unique needs and goals. My aim is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and improve their overall quality of life.
