Saralynn Kramm
LPC
I obtained a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in criminal justice and psychology from Waynesburg University in 2005, and continued my education at Waynesburg to earn a Master’s of Arts Degree in Community Counseling in 2010. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Community Engagement at Point Park University. I became licensed as a Professional Counselor in 2013.
I started my career as a Mobile Therapist, working with children diagnosed with ADHD, Autism, and Adjustment Disorders. I went on to become a therapist at a community mental health facility where I primarily worked with individuals diagnosed with personality, mood, and psychotic disorders, and assisted with their reintegration into the community. I also have worked for a behavioral health managed care organization, which helped me to understand the intricacies of services for those with mental health diagnoses. I also work in the capacity of director of a program for men with mental illness and involvement in the legal system.
I specialize in the use of play therapy, motivational interviewing, CBT, and DBT, but most often take an eclectic approach to include modalities that best fit clients’ needs. Throughout my career, I have learned that the therapist- client relationship is of utmost importance for individuals’ growth, increasing problem solving capabilities, and facing and overcoming challenges. Although therapy can be hard work, the benefits are endless. Through a person-centered, collaborative approach, I hope to help my clients discover these benefits and live a happy, fulfilling, meaningful life.
